Virtual Atlas of the Eye and Orbit

A modernized version of a historical cadaver-based stereoscopic atlas focusing on orbital surgery education.

MODIFIED IMAGES FROM THE STANFORD BASSETT COLLECTION

This painstakingly documented collection of cadaveric images are the product of a 17-year collaboration between former Stanford anatomist, Dr. David Bassett, MD, and Mr. William Gruber, the inventor of the View-Master (stereoscopic slide viewer).

The full Bassett collection is publicly available online through Stanford Medicine's Lane Medical Library and includes 1,554 stereoscopic images — we have digitally reimagined a selection of them specifically for purposes of orbital surgery education.
